Community Tissue Services is the largest tissue bank in the United States and one of the largest providers of skin grafts in the world. The new two-story, 94,000 SF facility constructed in Phase I has had a global impact on the development and processing of tissue. Phase II includes the $50 Million, 132,000-square-foot expansion that will more than double the organization’s footprint and will house 16 new clean rooms for additional processing, distribution and supply chain management of grafts of tissue, bone and skin used by doctors, surgeons and dentists worldwide.

We provided CM at Risk services for this 81,000SF new patient expansion and approximately 21,000SF of renovation space. The project included 32 new patient rooms, 6 LDRP rooms, 2 Antepartum rooms, 3 Postpartum rooms, and 1 C-Section room. A new Wellness Area includes an open exercise room with a track and turf facilities for in-patient physical therapy along with stress rooms, a clean supply room, Echo room, EKG/EEG room and a variety of office & clerical space.

Shook served as the construction manager at risk for the five-story addition to the existing four-story hospital. The expansion included: two floors of medical/surgical and orthopedic beds, totaling 48 patient beds; two floors of shelled inpatient space; an OB unit with associated support services including a food service area and two new public canopied entrances.

The project included providing preconstruction and construction management services for the new 480,000 sq. ft., 12-story southeast patient tower addition, neonatal intensive care unit, and tower enabling project. The tower addition included an intervention center, cardiac surgery and 180 heart-related inpatient beds.
